Understanding Behaviours- Unconscious bias, allyship & inclusive language

This workshop/seminar will focus on unconscious bias, pronouns, allyship, inclusive language and active bystanders.

The seminar will be ran by WO2 (SQMS)Deborah Penny from the British Army.

Deborah joined the army in 1982 and was promoted to Sgt as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operator. She has carried out in America, Belize, Sardinia, Norway, Brunei, Iraq and Afghanistan to name a few.

In 2004 Penny came out to the Army as Transgender and in 2012 became the first Transgender soldier to be deployed and operational on the front line.

She now uses her experiences to provide advice to the chain of command on Transgender issues and set up a network for women and LGBTQ+ personnel.

Do you dare to brave the coals?

This is a fantastic opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to do something out of the ordinary.

There will also be a raffle on the evening, along with some delicious homemade soup and hot drinks.

The event costs £25 to secure your place + ideally aim to raise an extra £50 in sponsorship

All monies raised will go to support local Marie Curie services.
