This workshop/seminar will focus on unconscious bias, pronouns, allyship, inclusive language and active bystanders.
The seminar will be ran by WO2 (SQMS)Deborah Penny from the British Army.
Deborah joined the army in 1982 and was promoted to Sgt as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operator. She has carried out in America, Belize, Sardinia, Norway, Brunei, Iraq and Afghanistan to name a few.
In 2004 Penny came out to the Army as Transgender and in 2012 became the first Transgender soldier to be deployed and operational on the front line.
She now uses her experiences to provide advice to the chain of command on Transgender issues and set up a network for women and LGBTQ+ personnel.
