Go North East will no longer be running no.19 bus service as of Saturday 25th March.
Don't worry, the bus service will still be in place but will now be operated by Gateshead Central Taxis.
How does this affect ticketing?
Go North East tickets and passes will be valid on this service until Sunday 30th April to allow a period of transition to the new operator and to sort alternative ticket arrangements.
The new operator is part the Nexus Fare scale. The new rates as of 1st April for this service are:
- £1.60 for a short trip (up to 2km)
- £2 single for all trips (whilst fare cap continues)
- £3.60 1-day ticket
- £16.50 weekly ticket
Tickets can be purchased via the bus driver.
Please note that although this service is Nexus operated Metro passes and Pop Cards are not valid on this service.
If you are travelling on both Metro and Bus you will need 2 separate tickets or a Network One pass.
