Cobalt Park is proud to once again be entering the Northumbria in Bloom competition.

Last year, we were thrilled to receive a Silver Award and be named category winners. This year, we’re aiming even higher and going for Gold!

This Year’s Theme: The World Cup

Our 2026 floral displays are inspired by the excitement of the World Cup. Each flower bed at Cobalt Central will showcase the flags of the previous three tournament winners, alongside a special display celebrating our hoped-for champions… England!

To celebrate, we’re hosting a World Cup-themed launch event:

- Thursday 11 June
- 11:30am – 2:30pm

Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon including:

Giant interactive football dart board – test your aim!
Free cupcakes (while stocks last)
Music and a great atmosphere
A selection of additional food vendors
Take this opportunity to explore Cobalt Central, the beautiful flower beds, woodland walk and Cherry tree way. 

Get Involved

Throughout June and July, we’ll also be running a series of community litter picks to help keep the park looking its best ahead of judging.
